THE PUUMILA CAFE AND GIFT SHOP
The first head designer of Kalevala Koru, Germund Paaer, born in Kihniö, is connected to Puumila in an essential way. His parents used to keep a bun and rusk shop at the exact location where the Puumila cafe now stands. In addition to the familiar coffee and bun you can buy vegetables dried by the farm womenfolk. Kihniö is famous for its strong handicraft heritage. Germund Paaer, in his time, greatly cherished the handicraft tradition and was one of the best known designers at Kalevala Koru. Some of his designing work is of Kihniö origin, e.g. the Salt heart and the Heart ring. The handicraft tradition is being promoted at Puumila. At the Puumila gift shop you will find high quality gift items from Kihniö.
The cafe and gift shop are open:
| Monday – Friday | 10.00 – 16.00 | | Saturday | 10.00 – 14.00 |
CATERING SERVICES
